OVERSEEDC RESEARCH STANDARD
Methodology
How OverseeDC separates source records, snapshots, calculated fields and editorial analysis.
Data-status labels
- Live API: fetched from a verified API for the current request, with a successful retrieval time.
- Daily snapshot: stored retrieval refreshed on a daily schedule.
- Reference snapshot: tied to a published dataset or manually reviewed reference release.
- Modeled analysis: derived from disclosed inputs, weights and limitations.
- Demonstration: product preview that must not be interpreted as factual government data.
Scores withheld
Government Risk Index, cybersecurity grades, AI-adoption scores and Oversee Scores are not published. A future score must disclose every component input, weight, source date, limitation and reproducible calculation before release.
Campaign finance
Individual-giving totals may include unitemized receipts. Donation counts and averages use itemized records because unitemized filings do not include donation-level counts. FEC records remain the authoritative source.
Corrections and uncertainty
We preserve stale timestamps during source failures, display unavailable states and never replace missing records with invented values.
